Mission Statement

Maria Droste Counseling Center has been formed out of the understanding that people need access to counseling regardless of their ability to pay. We are committed to serving others with enthusiasm, empathy and humility as we assist in creating a place of peace, love and harmony within others, ourselves and our community. We embrace and honor diversity in all its forms.

Description

Maria Droste Counseling Center has served the Denver Metro community as Colorado’s Center for Mental Health since 1989. The mission of MDCC focuses on breaking down barriers to mental healthcare, making it accessible to everyone in the community, period. Maria Droste Counseling Center also works to demystify stigma associated with mental health issues.

The Therapist Group at Maria Droste Counseling Center is a compassionate collective of approximately 30 private practitioners who see clients through private practice, and contribute a portion of their time to the nonprofit agency side of Maria Droste Counseling Center.

Approximately 30 private practitioner therapists, 15 staff, 3 clinical fellowship therapists, and 24 graduate-level clinical intern therapists work out of the central location at the corner of Louisiana and Colorado. Additional Maria Droste therapists are on site in approximately 30 integrated care settings such as public and charter schools in Denver and Aurora districts, medical offices, senior living facilities, affordable housing, and domestic violence shelters. Maria Droste believes in the necessity of integrating mental and physical health, which is why additional Maria Droste providers see clients in locations where they already go to seek care.

Maria Droste Services of Colorado is a wonderful organization to volunteer for. I have been volunteering with their Director of Development for about a month now, and it has been a great networking experience. I love what this organization stands for, and I am seeing the real life impact that they provide to others. As a graduate student in the mental health field, this is an amazing opportunity to learn more about mental health services.
