Mission Statement

Literacy Volunteers of Kent County, Inc. (LVKC), an affliate of ProLiteracy, is a non-profit organization which trains volunteers to teach functionally illiterate adults to read, write, and speak English. Tutoring is provided at no charge, is confidential, and is usually done on a one-to-one basis. We believe that the ability to read is critical to personal freedom and the maintenance of a democratic society.
