Mission Statement

The primary mission of the U.S. Veteran Reserve Corps is to deliver effective force packages for disaster preparedness and response. U.S. VRC utilizes the years of service, leadership, skill and expertise from both our veteran and professional members. It provides competent supplemental professional and technical support to our communities for readiness and response during times of emergency. Drawing on the fraternal nature, dedication to purpose, and leadership skills inherent in a military and service-oriented community, the U.S. VRC provides a source of trained and ready volunteers eager to assist when needed.

Description

The U.S. VRC is a military structured, uniformed, fraternal and service organization whose membership is comprised of those who have served honorably and steadfastly in, or retired from, the U.S. Armed Forces, State Defense Forces, federal, state, and local governments, as well as civilians with specialized professional skills, all of whom share an earnest desire to serve their communities and country. Codified by an Act of Congress in 1866, U.S. VRC is not under control of DoD but instead functions as a 501(c)(3) in partnership with FEMA, AMC, Salvation Army and state VOADs. Members wear the standard U.S. Army nuiform (with distinctive alteration) and conform to Regulation 670-01. Units currently in Mid-Atlantic region. Looking to expand nationwide. Requirements for unit stand-up are Commanding Officer (Federal or state O-4+), (1SG E-8+) and ten enlistees. Cadet program also in development.
