The mission of the Frostig Center is to enhance the opportunities of children with learning disabilities and related learning problems; to develop their potential and increase their ability to become contributing and stable members of society. Description

Founded in 1951, the Frostig Center works with children who have learning difficulties through a three fold mission: Research, Training, and Direct Services. We have gained an international reputation for our pioneering work in the field of Special Education and Learning Disabilities as well as our efforts in research and assessment. Through our training programs, consultation service, presentations to local and national groups, such as Americorps, and professional publications, we have been able to share our expertise with the rest of the world. Serving children directly with our center for assisstive technology, after-school tutoring, educational therapy programs, and the Frostig School is how the Center continues to explore and improve upon adaptive teaching strategies. Our goal is to create success for a lifetime for individuals with learning differences, by encouraging them to focus on their abilities... and, by giving them the tools and skills they will need to succeed in their life's pursuits.
