Mission Statement

The Pittsburgh Classical Guitar Society (PCGS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating a guitar community in Pittsburgh. The mission of the PCGS shall be for the development of the inspirational spirit for community, the mutual welfare of friendship among musicians, and the advancement of guitar in the surrounding Pittsburgh areas. Objectives: • Create a strong guitar community in Pittsburgh • Present world-class performers in concert • Provide community services through lessons, free concerts & fundraisers • Engage guitarists and guitar enthusiasts alike We exist to promote guitar and make Pittsburgh a better place.

Description

Currently, the Pittsburgh Classical Guitar Society is working to establish educational, guitar programs in the Pittsburgh area. We have a diverse guitar orchestra that is open to players of all levels and ages. The orchestra performs often throughout the year, featuring concerts in the spring and fall. We feature an annual concert series of accomplished guitarists across a range of music genres.

We hope to increase our fundraising efforts in order to advance our involvement in community music and guitar education. We are seeking ways to connect guitarists and give them performance opportunities. Our goals also include continuing our concert series and bringing the best talent in the world of guitar to the city of Pittsburgh.
