Mission Statement

The Mission of ESF Dream Camp Summer Program and After School Academy is to transform the lives of underserved youth through innovative year-long programs that Nurture the Individual, Educate the Mind and Inspire the Spirit. We strive to break the cycle of generational poverty in underserved communities by teaching children to create successful pathways for themselves. Dream Camp empowers them to become future leaders and contributors to the city.

Description

Dream Camp's After School Academy provides students with both academic and non-academic programming including homework help, academic skills and strategies, character development, creative projects, special guests, games, and more. Dream Camp is committed to serving our students year-round, so those who can't physically attend the After School Academy participate in monthly check-ins, quarterly workshops and are welcome to schedule in-person meetings with the Program Director as needed. The After School Academy is held during the week at 3 locations: Temple University, Bache-Martin Elementary and Mastery Charter - Smedley.

The Summer Program provides students in grades 1-12 with a safe and fun learning environment during the summer months, where we often see a lack of opportunities for youth. The Summer Program is held at Temple University's Main Campus where students have access to the highest quality facilities including art and music speciality classrooms, gymnasiums, dance rehearsal space and theaters. Students in Day Camp (grades 1-4), and Senior Camp (grades 5-11) participate in a variety of activities that are differentiated by grade and provide hands-on learning and real-world experience. The Summer Program runs for five weeks. Activities include Reading and Writing, Creative and Performing Arts, Project Discovery (Science), Art, Team Building and Conflict Resolution, Fine Arts (Music Production, Art, Dance), Sports, Chess and True Life Adventures.
