Bring positive transformation to North Love Field community through holistical ministries with children, youth, and families
The mission of Christ’s Foundry United Methodist Mission is to bring positive transformation to the North Love Field community through holistic services with children, youth, and families. In the North Love Field neighborhood, the Hispanic population accounts for over 90% of the 48,000 people in the area, and the per capita income is two- fifths the national average. Over 13,000 children under the age of 13 live within two miles of the Mission. Over 80% of these children are "limited English proficient," and 96% of the children are on subsidized lunches. The problems facing this community include high crime rates, high drop-out rates, teen pregnancy, gangs, drug use, domestic violence, work-place abuse, over-crowding in homes and schools, limited access to affordable health care, and a lack of services and agencies addressing these issues.
At its core, Christ’s Foundry United Methodist Mission provides care and support for the educational, social, physical, and spiritual needs of the families in this community. Christ’s Foundry is innovative and distinct from short-term assistance programs and projects. Christ’s Foundry desires long-term and intense relationships for holistic transformation in the lives of families through offering resources and support that help people get through their lives, not just the next month.
