Mission Statement
To help sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey return to their natural habitat. Birds that are deemed non-releasalable and are not suffering physical pain may become educational ambassadors and are provided permanent sanctuary. Last Chance Forever believes education is the key to making a larger impact in the world, and supports this belief with public educational programming about raptors and practical environmentalism.
Description
Last Chance Forever has been healing and releasing sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey for over 40 years. Founded by Master Falconer and Veterinary Technician John Karger, the project recieves between 150 and 300 birds into the facility each year for cre. An averge of 65-80% of the cases are successfully returned to nature. Last Chance Forever also has conducted scientific investigation into the success of released birds, as we are doing former patients little good if they are not surviving well in the wild.
Last Chance Forever also provides educational programs for children, civic organizations, and the public. These programs are seen by over 500,000 people annually, promoting a common sense attitude toward the interaction of mankind and the environment. We encourage a change in attitudes concerning these birds and wildlife in general.
