Volunteers are an integral and valued part of the team. They provide that extra level of care and comfort that neighbors used to provide for free, without thinking about it. Volunteers provide nonmedical services but are required to undergo intensive training, including interviews and background checks. Volunteers may choose to spend time visiting with one patient one hour per week in the home. Volunteers who visit patients in a residential facility have a small "caseload" per week. Volunteers who prefer to work behind the scenes may choose a remote volunteer position assisting with weekly phone calls to patients and caregivers. I would love to answer your questions. Compassus Hospice is seeking kind and caring licensed massage therapists to provide extremely light touch massage to hospice patients. We are looking for massage therapist volunteers to make visits to our patients in and around Rogers, Craig, Delaware, Ottawa, Mayes and Nowata counties, to provide relaxation and pain relief through massage. There is no need to bring a massage table. The patient is in a hospital bed or chair and fully clothed. You must be a licensed massage therapist in the State of Oklahoma.
