To fulfill President Lincoln's promise "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's veterans.
Description
"Serving Those Who Served" accurately reflects the impact volunteers have in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Our volunteers are honoring America's Veterans by assisting staff in delivering care that improves the health and well being of these brave men and women.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life to share their talents, learn new skills, meet new people, become a part of the team and to enrich their lives.
VA Health Care is focused on delivering excellent service that is veteran centered. As a volunteer, you will play a key role in assisting staff and providing the extra niceties for our patients..
The Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Ambulatory Care Center serves almost 2,000 Veterans daily. We are looking for volunteers wishing to share their expertise and valuable free time to help our deserving Veteran patients. Whether it be escorting patients to their appointments or working behind the scenes to help the smooth operations of the facility, opportunities abound. VAVS will seek to match the interests, skills and talents of our volunteers with opportunities that meet the needs of Veterans. Join us a a Voluntary Service Volunteer.
