Description

The Devoted Barn is an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility in Holly, Michigan. We take in animals of all kinds from cruelty, neglect, and large-scale hoarding cases. We help animals that are unowned and that need urgent medical attention. We also have a large feral dog program. These animals come to The Devoted Barn to heal both physically and emotionally. They learn to trust and love again, or for the first time, with the help of at-risk youth and special needs adults who come to work at the barn. In addition to helping the animals, our mission to teach compassion & empathy to others through working with our animals.
The Devoted Barn is a program of Devoted Friends Animal Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the lives of the companion animals we love. Devoted Friends Animal Society received its 501(c)3 non-profit status in 2010.

This organization is in shambles. Forced out of Frenchtown Twp for not obtaining proper permits. When they moved to Rose Twp, they did nothing to ensure the Twp would allow the dogs there- just moved them there then ended up in a lawsuit with the Twp, which costs thousands of donated dollars in legal fees and the dogs had to be removed from the property. Moved to an old dilapidated kennel in grand blanc, The "Devoted' Barn ended up being evicted from the Rose Twp property. As of today, the farm animals are on a property where the township has cited 29 civil infractions ( in 3 months time), there is an ongoing lawsuit over a $60,000 loan that was never paid back, and the animals are existing on 3 different properties- all being leased. The devoted Barn is a wreck. The animals that are supposed to be living in a sanctuary get the absolute minimum care. for more on the wreck that The "Devoted barn is, visit this website. https://www.thedevotedbarn.info/

Unsafe environment for volunteers as there is minimal training, NO insurance coverage at all and misappropriation of funds puts volunteers into positions that they are expected to give money for the animals medical care and feed on a very regular basis. The founder of The Devoted Barn and Board Members of DFAS have allowed bills to go without being paid resulting in 3 evictions for The Devoted Barn and it's animals with multiple court cases still pending. So currently there is not even a known location of where over 100 animals are being hidden. While 40 dogs sit rotting in small kennels with no training or even attempts to be adopted. These dogs have been in this "rescue" from 5-9 years. These are NOT feral dogs, these dogs could be placed in homes or a true Sanctuary instead of being used for donations like they have been. Please look deeply into this rescue.

the devoted barn has been evicted again. the care for the animals is nothing short of disgusting. their website states $250 monthly for vet care for about 70 farm animals in their care. they abandoned cows with this eviction. left behind. they have had numerous court cases with two ongoing at this time. there has been a lot of truths brought to light here https://www.thedevotedbarn.info/

This rescue takes questionable care of their animals and I don't agree with dogs being kept in an unheated barn. I also do not feel as though the organization is transparent with their finances. The director has multiple horses and personal animals on the property that belong to herself and her children. They also have a 3 legged cow named Kenny out in a muddy field 24/7 without the prosthetic that donations paid for him to receive. Kenny walks on his knees now.
