Mission Statement

Creating a no-kill community in Milwaukee county by humanely reducing homeless cat population with targeted TNR (trap-neuter/vaccinate/eartip-return).

Description

The Urban Cat Coalition is a 100% volunteer-run and 100% foster-based cat rescue focused on outdoor and community cats that was founded in 2016. We are dedicated to education about TNR programs, building strong relationships in our community, and humane education. Our programs include TNR training for volunteers and the general public, a barn cat program for community cats in unsafe situations, a foster program for adoptable cats and kittens (usually nursing kittens with feral mothers), and an adoption program for those cats that decide to become housecats.

I really support this organization's mission, and have appreciated the wide variety of volunteer opportunities they offer. If you really want to work with a rescue, but can't foster (fostering is also fun though!) or are hoping to do some hours from your computer at home, UCC has a lot of opportunities and flexibility. I have held a few different roles with this group and was able to easily transition into a new role when needed. I can no longer foster, so I've been helping with the adoption process and recruitment instead (all remote volunteer work!).
