Our goal is for all persons with mental retardation to have a chance to become useful and productive citizens who are accepted and respected in their communities.

Description

Special Olympics Detroit provides sports training and athletic competition in a variety of olympic-type sports for individuals with mental retardation ages 8 and up. Athletes are given continuous opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendships.
