Mission Statement

The Mission of the New Life Food Pantry is To provide food and other resources that improve the quality of life in our community

Description

New Life Food Pantry began in 2006 with 2 shelves of food. Each week 5-6 people would stop in and pick up a bag of emergency food that had been donated. The pantry has now expanded into 4 rooms, has multiple shelving units, a commercial refrigerator and freezer and 2 new large capacity refrigerator/freezers that keep the food fresh and properly cooled. We now have a dedicated staff of 30 volunteers and serve an average of 60-80 families each week.
Our pantry has expanded far beyond food distribution. In addition to helping ANYONE IN NEED with food, we provide personal care items and resume assistance. We offer health and wellness events including; blood pressure checks, blood sugar monitoring, Cholesterol screening, discount prescription cards and flu shots. We also bring in specialists to assist our patrons with insurance, housing and other emergency needs.
The experience here is unique. We provide services to those who, in other social service areas, fall through the cracks. Even if they do not qualify for food stamps their needs can be met here. They do not have to choose between getting their medication and eating that day or between having heat in the winter and providing lunch for their children.
We serve anyone in need, regardless of where they live or their income level. We serve many Seniors, Veterans, Single Parents, Disabled, People with Addictions and Families with young children.
Our pantry has earned the Goldstar Platinum Seal of Transparency, which is the highest level a non-profit can achieve.
