Mission Statement

Are you interested in working with children and families in foster care? We are actively looking to engage with volunteers and mentors to support our programs. Spokane Angels is a foster care non-profit that was created to help empower children and build sustainable foster homes. We are a community of people that walk alongside foster children and their caretakers by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building and mentorship. Our solution to the foster care crisis are the Love Box family support program and Dare to Dream youth mentor programs. Our programs utilize a trauma-informed, wrap-around service model that strengthens relationships between foster families, youth in foster care, and bio families. Our volunteers are everyday people who meet practical needs while spending quality time with the whole family building positive community.

Love Box: Individuals and group volunteers are matched with a local family. Each month, the volunteers pack needs items, gifts, and personal notes into a "Love Box" and deliver to their family. The delivery is an opportunity to build intentional mentorship relationships. Any volunteer over the age of 16 will need to fill out an online waiver form through Spokane Angels. All volunteers will need to have a background check and complete a one hour training.

Dare to Dream: Mentoring Youth in Care + Aged-out Youth Spokane Angels wants to match highly passionate volunteers to mentor and support one youth in foster care. Mentors will work closely with a youth (ages 11-21). They will meet at least 2x month to build relationships, teach life skills, complete an activity, or simply spend time together. Volunteers must be 22+ and have a significant age gap between themselves and the youth. All volunteers will need to have complete background check as well as complete a two hour training.
