Mission Statement
Artistic Dreams International (ADI) was founded in 2011, to open up the creative minds of children in underserved communities where budget cuts to arts education in public schools have left a void. Our program addresses the academic inequity and drop-out issues in Harlem by providing interdisciplinary arts education programs to underserved, low-income students enabling them to discover and reach their dreams. Our mission is to nurture youth 6-15 years of age to become creative world citizens that can transform their lives and the communities they live in, through the arts.
Description
Since our founding, we have grown to offer a total of fifteen after school and weekend programs in both West Harlem, New York City and Sonora, Mexico. Our NYC programs currently include eleven visual arts classes and one digital art and coding class. ADI currently provides free arts education programs to Harlem and Northern Mexico children through the Global Citizens Through the Arts. ADI units focus on learning how to become world citizens through the arts, with c lasses including watercolor painting, sculpture, visual art, digital art and coding, international chorus, bilingual art and technology, yoga and dance, and theater.
