Description

VOLUNTEER ADULT ESL AIDE NEEDED

Volunteer as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Aide for Adults, for 3 hours a week (more if you'd like). Classes are in San Pablo at an elementary school near Contra Costa College. We meet Monday-Thursday mornings from 8:40-11:45 during the regular school year. The majority of the students are Hispanic, so some Spanish would be helpful, but not necessary. There is currently a need for volunteers for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Volunteer aides play an important role in the classroom assisting individual students, working with students in groups, helping the teacher model dialogues, checking student work and giving them feedback, etc. No previous experience is necessary - just a desire to interact with students and help them work on their English skills. In addition, we teach them life skills, family literacy, and help them find the right resources. Our students greatly appreciate our helping them to improve their lives. This is a rewarding experience - guaranteed! Interested in a rewarding volunteer opportunity working in a fun filled and relaxed environment? Please contact me for more details. Thank you!
