Mission Statement

The Rathbun House provides a "home away from home" where families and caregivers can stay, for a minimal charge, in a caring and supportive environment while loved ones receive treatment at Mission Hospital, CarePartners Hospice or the VA Medical Center.

Description

The Rathbun House, opened in 1994, is part of MountainCare Services, which was created to bring critical services that fulfill important needs within our Western North Carolina communities. MountainCare Services, a 501c3, was born out of the sale of Mission Hospital, a non-profit, to HCA, Inc, a for profit healthcare management company. CarePartners Health Services was reconfigured after the sale to include Rathbun House, Adult Day Services, Grief Support and Music Therapy, all non-profits as well. WNC Bridge Foundation will continue providing financial support and guidance.
