Since 1981, North Beach Neighbors has advocated and acted for a vibrant North Beach community. We believe our neighborhood is one of San Francisco's most special, and it should be more equitable and open so that more can experience the life-transforming experience of living in such an immersive, caring community.
North Beach Neighbors is proud of the following achievements, made possible by the decades of activism and participation of our members.
Started the North Beach Farmers Market to bring fresh, healthy food to our neighborhood
Quarterly street and park "Adopt-a-Street" cleanups to beautify streets and parks
Planned the Festival of Lights and Buon Natale events to bring the holiday spirit to our neighborhoods
Planned Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (N.E.R.T) training to help neighbors prepare for emergencies
Secured funds from the city’s participatory budget to complete and repair the Bill Weber Jazz Mural at Columbus & Broadway
Supported the creation of the new Francisco Resosrivar Park and the Michelangelo Playground
Advocated to lessen impacts of the 2018 Washington Square Park closure
