Mission Statement

Clinics4All seeks to improve sustainable global access to healthcare by extending basic healthcare services to people who are medically-underserved in remote, hard-to-reach, infrastructure-poor areas via quick-to-deploy shipping container clinics.

Description

In response to the status of health and healthcare he observed in Africa, Zambian social entrepreneur Ackim Hamweenda founded Clinics4All in 2005. Working together with a few colleagues in South Africa and Zambia out of a converted home office he began prototyping solutions to improve healthcare delivery. By 2012, Hamweenda and his team had a promising model that integrated business and medical capacity building. Clinics4All has grown more than 2,000-fold since our founding in 2005 and local women have been the changemakers in the areas where we operate. Our mission is to eliminate preventable deaths that are rooted in poverty. Today, Clinics4All clinics are "one-stop-shop" community clinics that offer consultation with a clinician, a fully-stocked pharmacy, and a diagnostic lab on-site in the most impoverished rural areas. Clinics4All clinics operate as social enterprises - driven by the belief that long-term health impact is undergirded by confronting the very real challenges of financial solvency. The Clinics4All network of community clinics is expanding rapidly across Zambia: each clinic functioning as a community business, managed by local staff and clinicians, working within the larger healthcare ecosystem to demonstrate that access to basic care, prevention education, and community support can be transformative and can save lives. Our mission is to eliminate preventable deaths that are rooted in poverty.
