Mission Statement

The mission and purpose of Life After Loss is to create much needed resources and support for those who have suffered the loss of a miscarriage and provide understanding for those who support them. Approximately 20% of all confirmed pregnancies result in miscarriage and 1 in 4 women have struggled with miscarriage or infertility. While those statistics focus on the mother of the baby, we also understand that the father, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and family friends all suffer when a baby is loss. Life After Loss was formed from the aftermath of our Founding President suffering the miscarriage of her twin sons in 2016. During that time she realized there were very few resources available to help her understand how to deal with the grief and loss in a productive manner. Additionally, it was very little information for her family members to help them understand how to best support her through this loss.

Description

Life After Lossis an organization aiming to provide resources for women who have suffered the loss of a pregnancy and the family members who love and support them. Although miscarriage and infertility are struggles faced by one in four women, there is very little information available for those dealing with the grief. We are a non-profit organization seeking to positively impact the world in an area that has become a taboo subject, regardless of its impact on so many lives. This is a problem because grief that is unaddressed can create long-term problems in not only the lives of the mothers but also the loved ones connected to the pregnancy. Additionally, there is very limited information available for how to respond when someone you love is dealing with this particular heartbreak.

The solution presented by Life After Lossis to begin the conversation, provide the support, and offer tangible resources to those dealing with the grief of a miscarriage. We will do this by engaging in speaking engagements, conducting webinars and healing programs, and written novels filled with the tools to deal with the grief effectively.
