Description
Ohio Youth Development (OYD) is a non-profit 501(C)(3) tax-exempt organization. Co-founder Janine Lovelace and Cheryl Hython are passionate parents and youth advocates who appreciate the valuable role quality after-school programs can have in community children and families' live. OYD was established in 2013 in Steubenville, Ohio, and became a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt organization in August 2014. We service Jefferson County youth summer program, and facilitated our Healthy Cooking for Kids program in Franklin County, Columbus, Ohio. Presently, we have three locations where we will provide after school programming to children 5-12 years. Our goal is ensure participants have quality supervised after school hours mentorship. We strive to enable children to develop prosocial, self-confidence, leadership, critical and creative-thinking skills. Our approach is to listen to our young people to ensure they can share in making decisions on what it is they want and need.
