Description
LCAC is a multi-disciplinary cultural center
serving the Sacramento region by offering
Latino arts programming. Founded at
California State University at Sacramento in
1972, the organization - then La Raza
Bookstore - was rooted in Sacramento’s
Chicano community and deeply committed to
Chicano and Indigenous arts advocacy. For
over 40 years, the Bookstore and then La
Raza Galería Posada has served Chicano
activists and artists through our visual art
exhibitions, poetry readings, film screenings,
live performances, educational workshops
and by maintaining a permanent collection of
Chicano visual art.
