Mission Statement

The Bulldog Basketball School advances the lives of the boys and girls of the Barclay School Community using basketball to inspire academic achievement, youth leadership and community service.

Description

The Bulldog Basketball School began in 2003 as the Barclay School Basketball Club. Over time, we realized that our athletes needed more academic, socio-emotional and mentoring support. We have built a program that helps guide our elementary and middle school scholar athletes to a Core Grade Average 10% higher than their peers and to the best high schools in Baltimore (public or private). We run a year round program that operates mostly without financial requirement of the children we serve. We provide after school programming for elementary and middle school students. We run 6-8 weeks of camp over the summer and we support some of our high school students with Tuition Gap Funding.
We fundraise throughout the year (3 major fundraisers), write grants, and make use of volunteer efforts as much as possible.
