Greater Change exists to educate and empower women, youth and children to improve the social health of their own communities and experience the transformative love of God through Jesus.

Description

While other organizations are distributing care packages and goods, many Yazidi women and children are also in need of comprehensive skill training and psychological support.

Right now our focus is on women and children in the Kurdish region of Northern Iraq. Our first community center will be near the refugee and internally displaced people camps.

The International Organization for Migration estimates that over 3 million people are internally displaced inside Iraq due to violence as of April 2017. Many were forced to leave their homes years ago and have lived in horrible conditions since fleeing. While others more recently fled or were returned from captivity under ISIS.

The community center in the Yezidi displaced person's camp in Northern Iraq/Kurdistan is our big project this year. We are so excited for the team we have in place serving these people.
