Mission Statement

The Police Officer Moses Walker Jr. Organization mission is to break the cycle of anti-socialization skills among at risk adolescents ages 13 - 18. Our vision is to motivate and change their mindset thereby empowering at risk youths the belief that they can make a difference in their community.

Description

The Police Officer Moses Walker Jr. Corporation’s goals focus on advancing services in three primary areas: Conflict Resolution, Socialization, and Job Training. The organization seeks to model sound personal development and to teach respect towards others who may be different, with emphasis on critical thinking, problem solving, and socialization skills. The organization that was founded after the 2012 murder of Police Officer Moses Walker Jr., a 19-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department’s 22 nd District. Our mission is to honor his legacy; breaking the cycle of anti-social skills and behaviors among adolescents ages 13-18 and resolve community issues through collaborations with schools, community development centers, and faith-based organizations.

  • The Police Officer Moses Walker, Jr. Scholarship Fund was formally announced during a press conference on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
  • 2013 the Police Officer Moses Walker Jr. Corporation has provided youth with backpacks and school supplies through the Give Back to the Community Program.
  • 1 st Community Job Fair in 2016 partnered with Philadelphia Housing Authority Police Department.
  • 2 nd Community Job Fair 2017 partnered with POWER Philadelphia.
  • 2017 - 2018 Mentors & Entrepreneur Program at Harrison Plaza Community.
  • 2018 - 2019 Mentors & Entrepreneur Program with IDAAY.
