Mission Statement

Our goal is to bring together not only Wheat Ridge High School families but also many others from the surrounding community for a morning of fun and fitness. The 5K starts at the school and then winds through streets into the adjacent neighborhood. There are prize drawings and great awards for overall participation, plus age group winners to further enhance the festive environment of this race. The Farmers 5000 has two equally important purposes. First, it funds special programs at Wheat Ridge High School which enhance the curriculum and experiences of its students. And second, it connects the school more deeply with its community in a healthy, active way."

Description

Since 1981 runners have been coming to Wheat Ridge to run the Farmers 5000! This race continues raise money to support school programs and promotes physical fitness and community spirit. All funds from entry fees are given to various educational and special programs within the school. The 5K run and walk, along with a 1K fun run, are open to all!
