BiSHoP is a nonprofit that is dedicated to ensuring vulnerable members of our community have access to affordable housing in San Francisco, and we also advocate for their right to keep it.
In 2009, the Bill Sorro Housing Program was established by a group of community workers who were inspired by Bill Sorro’s work committed to social change. They created BiSHoP to ensure vulnerable members of our community have access to affordable housing and keep it long term. Bill Sorro Housing Program (BiSHoP) is named in honor of Bill Sorro, a lifelong activist and advocate for human rights. Our free services include: Finding Affordable Housing, Application Assistance, Case Management, Tenants’ Rights Counseling, Housing Education & Workshops, and Advocacy.
