Mission Statement

BiSHoP is a nonprofit that is dedicated to ensuring vulnerable members of our community have access to affordable housing in San Francisco, and we also advocate for their right to keep it.

Description

The Bill Sorro Housing Program (BiSHoP) is a unique housing service center established by a group of community workers committed to social change to ensure vulnerable members of our community have access to long-term affordable housing. We were inspired by Bill Sorro, a lifelong activist, trade unionist, community organizer, native San Franciscan and advocate for human rights. BiSHoP provides housing services for low to moderate income individuals, immigrants, veterans, seniors, the LGBTQIA+ community and people with disabilities. Our free services include: Finding Affordable Housing, Application Assistance, Case Management, Tenants’ Rights Counseling, Housing Education & Workshops, and Advocacy.
