Mission Statement

Sistah’s House of New Beginnings will help transform the lives of young women by empowering them to become self-sufficiency.

Description

Sistah’s House of New Beginnings is a nonprofit transitional home for young women. Every day, young women find themselves in difficult family situations that are harmful, or even dangerous. Through no fault of their own or incarceration due to poor choices, these young women have no place to call home. SHONB steps in to help these young women by providing a structured, caring environment to help them grow and flourish. SHONB is a vehicle to allow them to unlock who they are and who they were created to be. Our program is designed to meet the young women needs in an atmosphere in which they feel loved, wanted, valued, and accepted. SHONB work hard to help each young woman mature and grow to reach her maximum potential. A comfortable, safe, supervised living environment designed to encourage each young ladies emotional, moral, social, and physical development. A program that ensures ladies' daily needs is met, including personal hygiene, self-esteem and an overall sense of well-being. A diverse, highly trained staff who works directly with our residents. Intensive levels of treatment services, including assessment, treatment planning, case management, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, behavior management planning and implementation, and basic living skills. Each young lady enters into our transition program, where they receive the necessary training, skills, and support needed to live independent lives. However, there is not a maximum years too stay in SHNOB, but each woman must have an exit plan by age 24
