Helping Gen Z find new ways of connecting and building community to improve emotional wellness and mental illness resilience and prevention.
The JCK Foundation was started by John Tessitore in honor of his friend and mental health mentor, John Cleaver Kelly, who succumbed to suicide after a decade-long battle with mental health complications. After Kelly learned Tessitore suffered from OCD and Depression, he took him under his wing, helping Tessitore understand how connection and resilience can lead the emotional wellness movement and prove to anyone struggling that they can lead healthy, hopeful and fulfilling lives. To honor Kelly’s vision, we encourage communities to rise up and work together to improve mental wellness amongst our youth. This can be built one school at a time, through hands-on awareness and prevention programs that encourage a Mental Health Social Justice Movement and reinforce the importance of connection and resilience as building blocks of that movement. The same comfort, love and confidence Kelly provided Tessitore is what we try to provide to every student we interact with. Compassion is contagious, and every student deserves to know how much they matter!
