Mission Statement

St. Francis House:

The overall mission of St. Francis House is to provide emergency food, temporary shelter, and related support services in a safe, secure environment for people in Alachua County who, for whatever reason, find themselves homeless and hungry. Going beyond these basic needs, our staff and volunteers introduce our guests to the many community resources available to resolve problems underlying their crisis. St. Francis House provides these services in a supportive environment where people can begin to manage their problems effectively and reestablish themselves as productive members of the community.

Arbor House:

Arbor house is a beautiful group home, where single women and women with children are transitioned to permanent housing. A combination of meetings with our case managers that follow-up support help transition homeless families and individuals to self-sufficiency. Each customized plan is designed to address the following:

  • Nurturing individuals and communities
  • Job placement
  • Education, e.g. GED, Pert prep and college
  • Transitions to permanent housing
  • Health care
  • Life skills

Description

St. Francis House is a homeless shelter and soup kitchen that provides for the needs of the homeless and hungry in Alachua County.

Arbor House is a safe, stable living accomodation that is also a nuturing environment setting for women and women with children are transitioned to permenent housing. Our amazing case managers helps with basic life-skills building, education opportunities, assistance in job preparation and attainment to ulitmately over a case plan end homelessness one person or family at a time.
