Many service dog organizations rely on volunteers to raise their puppies for the first 12-16 months. At Medical Mutts Service Dogs, we don't breed dogs. Instead, all our dogs come from rescues and shelters at about 1-2 years old. They are selected for their potential to become a service dog for someone in need. We are looking for MUTT MENTORS! Our Mutt Mentors foster the dogs as they come out of the shelter, help them recover from the life changes they went through, make sure they are well-mannered around the house, and coach them through the beginning stages of their training as possible service dogs. Mutt Mentors give our select dogs the support they need to finally get a chance for a great life. We'll provide you with all the training you need. No previous training experience is needed. Learn more about our volunteer requirements and responsibilities by attending our next in-person volunteer orientation scheduled for Saturday, June 17th at 10:00 am. Contact us for more information.

Are you a dog lover with a heart full of compassion? Medical Mutts needs YOU! We're on the lookout for foster homes to provide love and care to our amazing dogs. There are two wonderful ways you can make a difference: 1) **Foster a Career Change Dog** These dogs were originally selected for our service dog training program but are now ready to find their forever homes as loving pets. Fosters help them decompress from the kennel environment while waiting for their new families. Whether you have other pets or kids at home, worry not - we'll match you with the right dog for your living situation. Every moment away from the kennel is a step closer to happiness for these pups. 2) **Become a Mutt Mentor** This program is akin to puppy raisers for other service dog organizations. As a Mutt Mentor, you'll provide a nurturing environment for service dogs in training, helping them develop those crucial foundational skills. Fear not, we've got your back with weekly training classes to guide you through the process. Typically, this commitment lasts up to 6 weeks at a time. By opening your heart and home to our dogs, you're not only giving them a chance at a better life but also contributing to a cause that changes lives. Join the Medical Mutts team of volunteers today! Contact us at sandi@medicalmutts.com to embark on this rewarding journey of fostering and making a difference. #FosterForACause #MedicalMutts #DogLoversUnite
