Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide the public with an opportunity to engage in a community fitness lifestyle. To provide the community with free or reduced price gym memberships that provide health and fitness programs that promote and educate the public on how to create and live a healthy lifestyle. We will provide free gym memberships to our Everyday Heroes that are defined as: first responders (police, firefighters, and EMS), all military personnel, teachers, nurses, adults with physical or mental disabilities and their families, The gym memberships will include access to a gym facility (class based format), educational classes for healthy lifestyles, and other various programs to educate the public on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Description
A fitness community whose goal is to be inclusive to all. Current programs being implemented and in place to be implemented in Summer 2019 include: Rock Steady boxing for Parkinisons, VA sponsored free workout programs for Veterans from the VA addiction department, the Phoenix- active sober recovery workout program for anyone 48 hours sober, stronGIRLS- free fitness programs for teenage girls aged 10-16, pilot program for fitness children with cerebral palsy or similar impairment (starting July 2019), group CrossFit classes for base memberships and Everyday Hero's populations, mental health awareness community talks, and healthy lifestyle community talks. Demographic of Everyday Heroes being served to date- police officers, firefighters, nurses, teachers, military, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, autism, lupus, victims of sexual abuse, low income, cystic fibrosis, foster children, sober active recovery, and teens/children. We are working on starting a coalition of medical professionals and volunteers alike who would like to be involved with the adaptive programs. Already involved are physical therapists, occupational therapists, mental health professionals, teachers, and nurses.
