Mission Statement

Pave Your Path, Inc. helps individuals and families break the cycle of poverty by achieving self-sufficiency through mentoring, workshops and advocacy. Our mission is to contribute to building a community structure aimed at helping as many impoverished families as possible, and doing it in a way that honors their courage and commitment to creating the life they desire.

Description

At PYP, it is our belief that we need more than just compassion to help alleviate poverty. We must fully understand the challenges and address them with meaningful and relevant solutions. Our trauma-sensitive approach takes into account the holistic growth of each person, with equal importance put on earning a living wage and reducing the daily suffering caused by toxic stress. We offer mentoring and workshops free of charge to our program participants, and rely on a strong team of committed volunteer mentors, specialists and interns. Our impact is real:

  • 94% of participants enroll in PYP's mentoring program after their first meeting
  • 60% of matched participants have new resumes done within their first 30 days, and applied to at least 3 jobs
  • 50% of newly employed participants have started work on a new plan to self-sufficiency
