Description

The activities we engage in are mutually beneficial and support our respective mission. We have a robust history of collaboration with each of these groups, and already provide a variety of weekday programming and occasional weekend events through these partnerships. During the past year, we collaborated with the Cultural Council and RouxArt to present Public Art Week activities that included an artist marketplace, a concert, and hands-on arts activities for the public. Together with Jump 4 Jax, a local nonprofit that uses Double Dutch to promote healthy living and inclusiveness, and Jacksonville Centre of the Arts we presented our Black History Month event "Get Down(town)!" with dance workshops and dance and musical performances. We regularly work with the Jacksonville Historical Society and the Jacksonville Public Library to present educational exhibits in Hemming Park. We co-presented MOCA's "MOCA Family Day in Hemming Park", an event that provided exposure to a variety of Jacksonville cultural institutions along with recreational and arts activities. We program the music stage for Downtown Vision, Inc. (DVIs’) monthly "First Wednesday ArtWalk" each month. We work with Duval County Schools to engage student performance groups to appear in Hemming Park at events throughout the year.
