The mission of The Charcoal Project is to bring better fuels, technologies, and policies to people in the developing world, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, that depend on wood and charcoal for their daily cooking and heating.

Description

TCP is a 10 year old US-based non-profit that helps address global energy poverty, especially for the those who depend on wood, charcoal, and animal dung for their daily energy needs. TCP promotes better policies, science, and on the ground practical problem solving. With our partners at MIT's D-Lab, we invest directly in small and growing businesses that deliver clean energy solutions to their communities, especially in East Africa.
