Mission Statement
Southern Nevada Mensa - a local chapter of American Mensa within Region 9 - was founded in 1965. According to the Mensa constitution, our purpose is three-fold: - Identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity. - Encourage research in nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence. - Provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for our members. Mensa is for people of all ages who like to s-t-r-e-t-c-h their minds, take on mental challenges and enjoy the interplay of ideas. Members have abundant opportunities for social interaction with like-minded folks. For a current list of upcoming events and activities, check out our Calendar at the center of the Southern Nevada Mensa homepage. That is the official version at least... In a practical sense, we are a great community that does a lot. We have local gatherings (play nights, dinners), participate in Regional and Annual gatherings, volunteer to connect with and help our direct community.
