Mission Statement

An Outdoor Adventure Camp Aiming teens in foster care towards a hope and a future

Description

Many of us have fond memories of summer camp, the friendships, experiences, and growth that happen in that unique environment. But for one group of children, opportunities for those experiences are seldom, if at all, available. You can help change that by supporting T.R.A.C. - Teen Reach Adventure Camp Austin. T.R.A.C. Austin is hosted by Camp 2911, a local 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization.

T.R.A.C. provides an extraordinary summer camp experience for at-risk foster teens in Central Texas who are dealing with abuse, neglect, or abandonment. We hope to reach teens with an experience that can dramatically impact the trajectory of their lives.

Campers enjoy outdoors experiences and challenging activities like horse-back riding, archery, crafts, kayaking, and water sports. We have cross talk time every day as well. Campers receive tons of encouragement from our expertly trained staff to overcome not only the challenge course, but the challenges they face in life. They receive individual attention during themed evening activities, like the formal dance for the girls and the talent show for the boys. These special moments throughout camp will be captured in individually customized photo albums, which for many of the campers will be the only childhood memory photos they have in their possession.
