The mission of Lakeway CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is to improve the lives of abused and neglected children of Hamblen, Jefferson, and Sevier Counties through trained volunteers who advocate for a safe, permanent, loving home. The goal of our advocacy is to represent the best interest of the child and shorten his or her stay in foster care.
Lakeway CASA of Sevier County offers free training to qualified participants to become child advocates in the Sevier, Jefferson, and Hamblen County Juvenile Courts. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are community volunteers that advocate for abused and neglected children. Anyone can be a CASA, there are no special skills required. Participants must be 21 years old, pass a criminal background check, and be able to dedicate 10 hours a month for CASA related work.
