Description

Our vision at Women United for Refugees & Immigrant of Illinois (WURII) is to establish a place of community and emotional support in Chicago as we provide resource connections, focused support groups, and community events for refugee and immigrant women and their families. Our goal is to help newcomers regain the sense of community and support they lost from their home countries so that they can successfully integrate into their new homes in America and truly thrive.

Refugees and Immigrants however, are only half of the story. The other half is you - the greater Chicago community! We see each person as a member of our family and believe everyone has something valuable to contribute. This is why we strive to provide the space and facilitation needed for newcomers and local residents to come together to share, learn from each other, and develop meaningful friendships. Something as seemingly small as a smile can be the start of something great.
