Our Mission To provide grieving children a community to share their experience, strength, hope and tears. The community will support each other to heal, grow and lead a more fulfilling life.

Description

Carl’s Butterflies provides support services for bereaved young adults, adolescents and younger children. Grieving children are called the "forgotten mourners," those whose silent grieving is reflected in their future behavior. We believe all children have a right to grieve over a loved one experiencing a critical illness or even the death of a family member in a safe, healthy environment.

Our "Talk Circles" children come together to heal each other to grow and lead a more fulfilling life. They do this by sharing their strength, fears, tears, anger, loneliness and hope for the future without feeling judged in a peer group environment. We provide dinner, speakers, trips, journals, Entrepreneurship. This is the emotional support our children and their families need which will allow them to maintain and develop friendship and social connections, build strong interpersonal skills and instill a sense of hope in the future.

Our Motto: A Place Where Our Children Always Know They Are Not Alone During Grief.
