Mission Statement

Tru-Blu K9s is a volunteer organization that provides Animal Assiated Therapy and Animal Assisted Activities to children and adolescents with emotional and social needs. All volunteer teams are certified through Delta Society, an internationally recognized authority. The animals are carefully trained and screened for this purpose.

Description

Tru-Blu K9s is a pet assisted therapy group. We bring animal/handler teams to visit children and adolescents in various settings, such as psychiatric hospitals, group homes, correctional facilities, and foster care facilities. By working with the animals in obedience training, trick training, and grooming and basic animal care, children with emotional and social needs, can develop self esteem, learn to trust, learn to follow complex instruction, as well as participate in the everyday, fun activities having a pet brings.
