Bring your registered furry companion to help patients with comfort towards the end of their life. The Pet Therapy Volunteer serves as an additional support to patients, families, and caregivers by making friendly visits with his/her certified therapy animal. Visits may occur in the patient's home or in a professional care setting (subject to the rules of the facility). Both the Volunteer and certified therapy animal provide comfort, companionship, and a welcome distraction from the illness.

Do you like helping others in a quiet and supportive environment? Our office staff is always looking for help and loves teaching others. You can make a difference in hospice by helping the office run more smoothly! The Administrative Volunteer provides support to office personnel through clerical and administrative functions. An Administrative volunteer may assist with answering telephones, filing, making copies, data entry, or helping to create admission packets. An Administrative Volunteer might help with compiling and mailing Bereavement letters, or sympathy cards.

The end of life can be a scary and difficult situation for most. As a volunteer, you can provide patients with the support and love they may be missing and help them along the journey. Giving your time and attention to an individual who is at the end of their life, can not only benefit the individual, but can also benefit you! Come make a difference! Serve as an additional support to patients and families dealing with a terminal illness and end-of-life issues. Support is provided in a variety of ways, including the provision of companionship and socialization to patients, or offering respite to stressed caregivers. Some other support a volunteer can provide is singing to patients, playing musical instruments, doing art with patients, poetry, reading, etc.

The Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer Program aims to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Once paired with hospice patients who also have military experience, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient thereby creating an environment where life review and healing may occur.

Most hospice patients are stuck in their home or facility with little to no socialization. Your presence can make a big difference in their lives!
