Description

On July 4th 2016, Melissa Avara a local McKinney resident volunteered at a neighborhood celebration event where she resides. She met two local police officers also working the event, and over the course of the evening she got to cut up and get to know them. Melissa was so touched by the BIG personalities and even BIGGER hearts the officers had, that she made it her mission to do something special and unexpected for the police department in McKinney. Just a few days later our Dallas Police force was under attack in Downtown Dallas and took the lives of some great officers. That really put Melissa on a mission to do something more and ongoing to support our officers. After spending some time brainstorming and researching ways to make a difference she discovered that not all police departments have a budget for coffee and Coffee for Cops came to life. Coffee for Cops is a way for anyone to give back and provide a "PERK" for the people who put their lives of the line to protect us and our communities every day. Melissa believes that every police officer deserves a good cup of quality coffee at no charge every single day. Donations can be monetary, or new unopened bags of coffee, k cups, coffee supplies (creamer, sugar, cups) gift cards or cash that will be spent on coffee and delivered to the local police stations in the DFW metroplex. 100% of the donations and proceeds raised go directly towards supplying coffee to our local police department. Our goal is to be in every police station throughout the DFW Metroplex
