Mission Statement

Approximately 1.2 million dogs & 1.5 million cats are euthanized each year. Our goal is to create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes and where no loving animals, no matter what their age, are killed in shelters because they are considered a surplus or unadoptable. We anticipate rescuing and rehoming over 200 dogs and cats in our first year.

Description

Yappy Tails Animal Rescue, Inc., is a 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. Working with our southern rescue partners, we place our animals into temporary foster homes where they are socialized, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical or behavioral conditions limiting their adoptability.

This is not a review for Yappy Tails as a rescue, only for volunteering for them as an application screener. I found their remote application screening volunteer position on this website at the start of the pandemic and screened for them for almost 2 years. Everyone there I have dealt with was always wonderful, and they seem to really take the time to match dogs with the right family. As a screener, I had the privilege of working with a supportive woman who worked hard making sure all applications were assigned. If I ever had a question or problem, she was there. Unfortunately, she stepped down as the application coordinator. The new woman in charge is dishonest and unprofessional. Perhaps she needs time to learn, but due to her ineptness and her trying to cover it up, I had to walk away. I strongly recommend you screen applications for another rescue. There are so many out there that can use your help, and most importantly, will appreciate you.
