Description

A2IDEAS was launched at the grass-roots level in June 2017 by its founder and a four-member board of directors. Although starting without experience in the nonprofit arena, the executive director has built the foundation of the organization, developed an expansive network in the area and the field, served as its primary advocate, hosted a forum event for persons with disabilities, and formed and led a coalition (DAC-MI) for parents, tutors and organizations in the area who support students with learning disabilities. The need for the niche advocacy that A2IDEAS does is not realized or well-understood by the general public. The working board, tasked with building a nonprofit and its operations, is in need of more members who are familiar and experienced with such in order to 1) establish the organization’s sustainability, and 2) ground it in the community as the essential service it is for the unique population it serves-families of P-12 students with disabilities, primarily in Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County, Michigan.
