Mission Statement
The L.I.V.E Team stands for Leaders in Interpersonal Violence Education. We are a group of URI students who are trained to facilitate, educate and advocate on the URI campus regarding issues related to stalking, sexual and relationship violence.
Description
The L.I.V.E team office is located at the Women’s Center at 22 Upper College Rd, staffed by members and professional staff. The organization is dedicated to helping victims, survivors and secondary victims of sexual assault, domestic and relationship violence, and stalking obtain information and resources, as well as engaging and empowering bystanders.
We seek to make the URI community a safe, healthy environment by advocating for healthy relationships, encouraging bystander intervention and educating about the culture we live in, which perpetuates stalking, relationship and sexual violence. Students involved in the LIVE Program have an active leadership role, gain in-depth knowledge about interpersonal violence, develop public speaking, group facilitation, and communication skills and commit to advocating for this important social justice issue utilizing the latest developments in the anti-violence movement
