Mission Statement

The mission of Fusho Zen Institute is to make Zen training accessible to anyone with determination to go through the highest level of spiritual training, Shugyo. At Fusho Zen Institute, cultivating maturity through direct experience of our true nature is emphasized. When we realize that all things, sentient or inanimate, imagined or manifested, interpenetrate without obstruction, the notion of self and others disappears. We experience our true nature, the Unborn, pulsating through our bodies as one entity with the cosmos. Through Zen training, one transcends individual desires and becomes a human being capable of providing the deepest of Compassion -- semui or fearlessness -- to all sentient beings.

Description

Founded in 2017, Fusho Zen Institute has been providing Zen meditation and training to individuals and organizations, through workshops and in partnership with other organizations such as The Huntington Library. Fusho Zen Institute will soon begin offering healing services to prepare the body and mind for effective meditation practice. Presently, Fusho Zen Institute seeks volunteers to assist in supporting services and in teaching meditation. Volunteers will be guided in the meditation practice with selected interns having the options for intensive live-in training.
