Mission Statement

Overview: Sustainable Jersey is a nonprofit organization that provides tools, training and financial incentives to support communities as they pursue sustainability programs. By supporting community efforts to reduce waste, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and improve environmental equity, Sustainable Jersey is empowering communities to build a better world for future generations. Mission: The mission of the West Long Branch Green Team is to provide education, champion and lead environmental sustainability efforts in our community.

Description

West Long Branch Green Team Goals:

  • Collaborate with our community and government to implement green initiatives.
  • Encourage community facilitation of ideas for green initiatives.
  • Research and analyze green initiatives which make practical environmental and financial sense.
  • Develop strategies and timeline for green initiatives.
  • Promote and educate environmental issues through community outreach activities.
  • Collaborate, research and work with other groups towards becoming and retaining our Sustainable New Jersey certification.
  • Recognize and celebrate existing initiatives and programs that the Borough is already doing that support sustainability.
