Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Rincon Migrant Shelter is to provide humanitarian aid to asylum-seekers who have come from ICE and are on their way to sponsors around the country. We offer a safe environment and provide temporary shelter, food, clothing, and assistance with transportation.

Description

Asylum-seekers are migrants who are fleeing violence, corruption, extreme poverty and unsafe living conditions. Over 600 asylum-seekers, primarily from Central America, have been served at the Rincon Migrant Shelter so far. We have an average daily census of 24, half of whom are children. Our currently operating shelter opened on March 25, 2019. The shelter is run primarily by volunteers and funded by generous donors.
